Humans have relied on llamas for over 4,000 years as efficient, low-impact pack animals for backcountry travel, valued for their sure-footedness, endurance, and minimal environmental impact! In fact- an average horse or mule is equal to 18 llamas in regard to trail impact. Not only are they calm and easy to manage, but a pair of llamas can carry 150lbs of your group’s gear, allowing for many luxuries you would not consider bringing into the backcountry otherwise! Llamas truly make the best trail companions.
TrekSierra offers themed hikes to make your trip even more memorable! This is a unique service designed to enhance your trek but never to “crowd” your trek.
TrekSierra is partnered with some of the most durable and reliable outdoor brands on the market, including Ultralight rental offerings from Nemo, Gregory, Osprey, Big Agnes, Mammut, Mountain Hardware, MSR and Outdoor Research.
